Holly Hunter, an American film and actress, is well-known for her stellar roles in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. The actress won numerous awards, like an Oscar for her role in the film Piano. In her early years her acclaimed actress started acting on stage in several Broadway or Off-Broadway productions. When she was a kid, Helen Keller was her favourite character in a fifth grade play. After suffering from the mumps, she became deaf on one side of her ear. But, it didn't stop her from pursuing her dream to become an actor. She was a drama major at the college, and then moved to Pittsburgh to New York City to follow her dream. Hunter was trapped in the lift of playwright Beth Henley when she met her. Together they created Broadway Crimes of the Heart in which Hunter made her Broadway debut. Hunter moved to Los Angeles and tried to get films roles. For Swing Shift, she landed a role as a support. In the three decades since then Holly Hunter has been featured in a variety of TV shows and movies. Holly Hunter won a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as well as an award called the Women in Film Lucy Award.
